I have several of the Gooseberry Patch cookbooks but I have to admit that this is one of my favorites! Mainly because I like reading about the traditions and I will read it all throughout the year. One of the best hints is to help defray the cost of a Christmas tree during the holiday season, we decorate an old coffee container and tape it around the top and throw in all of our loose change all year round and believe me by December you will have enough money to buy a very nice tree and it doesn’t seem to hurt the pocket book so much.

Help answer the question about Patch Christmas
I am looking for a old Cabbage Patch with red hair?
My little sister had one Patch Christmas named Fern Bebe or BiBi when we were little, and I thought that it would be a great Christmas gift for her this year. Anyone know where I could get one?

Here comes Santa Claus! It's time for you to gladden the people you love by offering them the most special gifts. And we think that is not important the present's value or size, but the attention and the way you offer it. Create a special and warm moment from offering an original present. Enjoy of a beautiful Christmas morning, opening the nice decorated presents.
There are some tips and tricks for an appropriate present's decoration:

* For choose the right decoration style, you have to be aware of the occasion, the present's proportion, color, character and especially of the favorite colors, flowers of the person you offer. These elements have to harmonize each other and with the giving occasion.

* The ornament has to be no more than 1/3 from the present box and to follow its lines. Try to make the decoration so that the gift could be guessed.

* The wrapping paper or cellophane is good to have one single color, but if Patch Christmas it has some inscriptions, put the arrangement so that these can be seen. For a nice present box, we recommend you to use a pastel or discreet color for the wrapping paper to mark out the arrangement. The decoration has to be a patch of color and point of attraction.

* It's important to stretch the paper using a stick gel or an adhesive tape, to look clean and not crumpled. If it's case, overlap the paper on the below surface. What it's seen has to look perfect.

* If you use ribbon for your decoration, it has to contour the box's lines. For a quadratic present box, make a little bow in the centre of it. If the box or simply the present has a rectangular shape, the arrangement or the bow is good to be placed in the left or right side, but not in centre, for a better present's outline. Assort the ribbon's color, material, dimension to the entire present.

* There is a new trend: the flower arrangements for the present's decoration. These are made from a single flower or one type of mini flowers surrounded by leaves or verdure. Don't exaggerate with the floral arrangement's proportion. But you can also make a present from this arrangement, if you'll create it separately, just sticking it in the end.
* Being Christmas, decorate the present under the Christmas tree in the Christmas spirit. For a little boy, wrap the toy in a cute and with car inscriptions paper. He'll not appreciate a flower arrangement attached on the box, but a little toy car will be the perfect arrangement. For your little daughter, buy the favorite colored wrapping paper and put on the box a pink floral arrangement.

* Make sure that unpacking will not deteriorate the decoration. It will be possible, in case you'll decorate with a flower arrangement, if you use a floral foam of which base is an adhesive bandage. In Christmas spirit, use, in stead of the usual verdure, the pine branches, cones, mistletoes etc.

This book is chock full of recipes and ideas. I’m sure I’ll use a few of them. The seller sent it very quickly and it was in almost new condition. Great value.

I had seen this book at a friends house prior to purchasing. The book is hardback with a spiral binder which makes the recipes easy to read when in use. Recipes include cookies, cakes, desserts, veggies, meats and more, that not only sounded yummy, but were yummy!!! Pictures are colorful and helpful. For those who are into crafts there are easy suggestions for holidays. For the little ones there are ideas for them too! This is the first Goosebeery Patch book I have ever purchased, and I am extremely happy with it.Besides all of the items mentioned above. The book itself was brand new (came in its original packaging) and was about half the retail price! What a great buy!!!

I saw this in Michael’s and had to have it! Found it here on amazon for a much better price…great book overall with wonderful recipes and craft ideas.

I am a big fan of the Gooseberry Patch Christmas books. This book does not “grab” me as the others have. I doesn’t have the ideas that I would use like the others have. I was kind of disapointed with this book. I am sure it is difficult to keep coming up the original ideas each year.

I love this series of books. They have the best recipes and this second edition is no different. So far, my favorite is the third one but I’ve bought all of them and continue to do so every year. Yes, they’re really THAT good! You just can’t go wrong with the decorating ideas, gift ideas, and best of all the RECIPES! I use all the recipes throughout the year and my husband calls me a gourmet cook. I also buy these for friends for gifts but my husband doesn’t want me to – he wants everyone to think that I am a gourmet!

Not one “original” idea that I havent seen in every magazine or craft book for years. Most of the items were scrapbooking related, which was little things like tags and noting worth duplicating.

I love Gooseberry Patch, especially their Christmas books (I own them all), but this one has no originality, no spark, nothing that is worth even trying to do for a project. Usually there is at least ONE project that has me excited and running to the craft store, but this one was just boring and dull.

Save your money and just check it out at the library.

I bought this as a requested Christmas gift for a family member. It is beautiful! There are instructions and photos of unique gifts and interesting recipes.

This book is just as good as all the other Gooseberry Patch books! Lots of fun, easy crafts, recipes, and ideas. I will definitely order the next in the series. I was extremely pleased with this book!

This series of books is wonderful if you love great holiday recipes and craft projects. I have all 10! The greatest part is they are the least expensive at Amazon.

I’m a fan of gooseberry patch cookbooks and a collector. The larger “Christmas” books usually contain more crafts than recipes, so if you are looking for a cookbook, you might be better off getting one of the spiral-bound gooseberry patch cookbooks. This book contains about 80 pages of crafts (not including add’l instructions in the back of the book) and about 40 pages of recipes. I thought the photography and design in this book was excellent. I particularly liked the cheerful red and white they used for their Christmas Quilt on page 34 and the bedroom picture on page 30 inspired me to find my own popcorn chenille spread.

I cooked the wild rice soup and my family liked it. I admit I usually purchase these Christmas Books for the recipes… And this time around I didn’t find too many that I absolutely had to make. Still, this was a quality product, a nice addition to your collection with some beautiful photography to enhance your enjoyment and to inspire your holiday spirit.

This book was definitely not a waste of money. It gives ideas for family traditions, homemade gifts, and lots of good recipes. This Gooseberry book would make a good holiday gift for any family member or friend who enjoys homemade items or craft activities.

Every one of this series is read and enjoyed both for the tasty, homemade, loving recipes but equally for the hand drawn country illustraions. the spiral binding is handy in the kitchen and the cover makes it a cute addition to a shelf or table set up for the holidays.. No I don’t work for the company I’m just a long time fan! Great for gifts, too. They are WELL received !

Lotsa polka dot projects. Lotsa felt appliques. Some fabric items, some stamped items, and also recipes in the back. My family LOVES the “not your usual party mix” recipe! It is NOT low fat, but it is very very good, and simple. I got this b/c my child likes polka dots, altho I haven’t done any of the crafts yet. I like the stamped cards and gift wrapping ideas. I’ve rated it at 3 stars b/c of the price. I like craft books but I SO don’t like how they’re usually thin and over-priced. It seems to be a regular theme unfortunately. I’m just sayin’!

This book has the best ideas for homemade gifts, crafts and recipes! It gave me so many ideas, I cannot decide what to do first. My family and friends are going to love their gifts from me this year.

I have been collecting (and using) this series of books since they came out. They are wonderful. They have great ideas and many really good recipes as well. I think they are as much fun to read as to use as they have many great pictures and easy to follow instructions. I can hardly wait for book 10!

I love all the Gooseberry Patch books and this one again is NOT a disapointment. Really great crafts and recipes, it is so homey (If that is a word) Great book!
